Parents' Weekend June 2015!

Hey Everyone!

We just concluded a lovely 4-day weekend with my parents. We had a wonderful time together and lots of new adventures. We have a ton of pics to share, so we appreciate your patience. :-)

The folks arrived on Thurs, and we had dinner at the colorful Green Springs Bistro in Safety Harbor.

Friday, after breakfast, we took them to the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg. It is a beautiful spot, and I'll shut up and let the pics speak for themselves.

Family selfie!

After the Sunken Gardens we had a nice lunch in St. Petersburg, where we also walked by the marina.

Friday night, we went to Caretta on the Gulf at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater. There is always a pretty view and usually a beach wedding going on.

Saturday morning, we rose early and headed to the Safety Harbor pier to try some fishing.

We had the pier to ourselves most of the morning, saw some very friendly and playful manatees and had a beautiful morning on the water, but alas, caught no fish.

Later, we went to John Chestnut Park for a pre-lunch walk.

We saw some nice wildlife on the walk.

Hello!

Haha ha ha ha!
During the heat of the day, we usually just hung around on the porch or took naps. Deuce enjoyed being the center of entertainment.

Later on Saturday, we went to St. Pete Beach, where we ate outdoors at Castile, a restaurant overlooking the intercoastal waterway. Here are the boys. I think the girls' shot is on my dad's camera.

After dinner, we took a sunset cruise on a sailboat out of Dolphin's Landing. We lucked out and had nice weather the whole time, although storms were starting to roll in on our ride back to the marina. It was a beautiful evening on the water.

Alas, on Sunday, we took my folks back to the airport. It was so nice to get to spend some time together, and I think we all had a nice visit. Even Deuce and Mojo were on their best behavior.

The sting of not catching any fish still bugged Glenn a bit, however, so after they left, he suggested we try some fresh water fishing at Lake Tarpon. For the first hour or so, we were again skunked, however, I was happy to see a little alligator who stopped by to say hi.

We actually saw two little gators today. We also moved over to a nearby stream, where we saw some big bass near shore who were totally uninterested in eating our delicious worms. However, we finally had a little luck with some Crappies.

I caught this big bluegill, but Glenn held him up for the camera.
And Glenn also caught a stick.

Fish sticks!
So anyway, that wraps up our Parents' Weekend of adventures. We had a lot of fun. Hope all is well with all of you. Love ya!
