Too Many Pictures!!! (Part 3 - Selby Lights & Circus Museum)

Hi Everyone -

Hope you all had lovely holidays and are ready to return to our normal lives. For Glenn, who had the month off, this will be a painful adjustment.

Anyway, let us revert back to before Christmas, when Glenn and I were in Anna Maria Island, and went to spend an evening at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in nearby Sarasota for their "Lights in Bloom" event. It sprinkled a little bit as we got there and we had to park a ways away and take a trolley to get in, but it was beautiful.

The pics don't do it justice - there were millions of lights and the park is huge with giant trees everywhere, but here we go.

This is a wishing tree where people write wishes on ribbons and tie them to the tree. So pretty!

This house is across the water from the park.

Ok. It is now several days later and I am going to start on uploading the pictures from our visit to the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. What a lovely day we had there! And we didn't even go through the art museum. The place was huge and gorgeous and we stopped and had a delicious lunch at a little cafe on the water. But I digress...

The entrance

The grounds on the walk to the circus museum were beautiful.

So the most amazing thing they have at the circus museum is this giant model of an entire circus, done in, as you will see, painstaking detail. It takes up a huge room and takes a long time to walk the whole way around it. We heard someone say that the artist (one guy) spent 50 years building this.I think you could stare at it all day and not see everything, and it definitely can't be all captured in one picture.  So. Here are a bunch.

No two people are the same

The acrobats spun around

Ok. So, that's it for the GIANT MINATURE CIRCUS. But there was more to see at the circus museum.

Oh, did we also mention they had a TRAIN CAR?

There were also some interactive areas. Here's me stumbling across a "high wire".

And, of course, Glenn in a clown car.

Alright guys, I think that's a good place to end this one. I still have like, uh, 60 pictures to go, so stay tuned for our next installment of "Too Many Pictures!!! (Part 4)

Love you guys! Later, gators!
