Loving Winter in Florida

Hi Everyone -

Not too much new and exciting here. Glenn has been traveling a lot for work and leaves shortly for a trip to Pensacola, and later this week he goes to Orlando and Sarasota. Last week, he was in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando.

I continue to work at the new job and go out for my lunchtime walk, weather permitting. Lately it has been cool but sunny. Today - the aptly named Sunday -  is downright gorgeous.

Last weekend, our friend Greg came down to visit his parents in Bradenton, and he met us for lunch in St. Pete. It was another beautiful day and we ate outside at a sidewalk cafe. It was fun to watch all the people going by, and these cute little pedal cars.

We walked down to the marina and took some pics.

This one is for sale!
What a pretty day!
Here we are!

We walked around town a bit where I posed with a giant frog...

And went up to the rooftop at the Canopy to get some nice views.

Here's one of the pics Greggy posted on Facebook.

And in case you didn't get enough of us...

So a fun-filled afternoon. That evening Glenn and I drove to Indian Rocks Beach for some pizza at Slyce, and stopped down to the beach to say hello.

So let's see. In other news, I should mention that I really like taking pics with my new iPad - the quality of the pics seems better than on my phone. Here are a couple pics of the pups...

Hello Mo!

Sleepy puppy

And here are some nice birds I saw on my daily walk.

A friendly Anhinga
And a Great Blue Heron who let me get pretty close

Also - I don't know if you've ever tried to photograph fish while they are still in the water, but the pics are usually not very good. I thought these gar came out pretty nice.

Sorry guys, there is no fishing in Lake Carillion.

Anyway, back to today. We took the pups for a long walk over at nearby Phillipe Park.  Nothing but blue skies on the bay.

And lots of pretty trees.

No matter how far we walk, they want to keep going!

Another beautiful day. We feel very lucky.

So that's all the latest from here. Hope you are all doing well and have a great week.  Love, Us

Happy 2015!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry you've been blogless for so long. Glenn and I have been pretty much just hanging around the house since the holidays. I had bronchitis for a while, so we haven't been up for much adventure.

You should know, however, that Florida is still very nice.

So let's see. What all is new?

Well, as part of my Christmas present, Glenn took me to Sarasota to see "Guys & Dolls". We ate on the patio of a nice restaurant in Sarasota...

and then went to the show, which was very entertaining.

Glenn and I were the youngest people there...by far! We stayed at a hotel, and the next day, which was rather chilly, we spent checking out the new, swanky Sarasota Mall.

They also had a Tesla store in case we decided we wanted to buy a luxury sports car.

Speaking of cars, we went for lunch one day in Safety Harbor and found these fellows keeping their feet warm on  a BMW they had claimed.

In other news, while I was sick, Deuce had an infection near his tail and had to wear a cone. It was very unpleasant for all of us.

This is Glenn, getting coned in the face.
We were all very happy when we finally took the darned thing off.

Yay!

So anyway, this past weekend, we went out to our favorite Mexican place, called Casa Tina, in Dunedin.

And here we are with a new friend (and Glenn's giant thumb.)

Finally, on Saturday, we decided to go some place new, so we headed to Hammock Park, which is also in Dunedin.

It was beautiful. And around 78 degrees. Not bad for January!

It probably should have been called Citrus Park because, a) we didn't see any hammocks and b) there were just wild citrus trees growing all over the place.

Oranges

And tangerines (or clementines) who knows?
Glenn knocked down a tangerine with a stick and we tried it. Pretty darn sour.

There were also some pretty flowers around.

At one point, we were walking by a tree with a very chatty bird. We speculated that he might be some sort of parrot, and indeed from the photo, it looks like he might be.

Hello!
So that's about all that is new and exciting down here. Hope you are all doing well and having a great new year so far. I shall close with my vote for favorite picture of the week.

Love those sunbeams!
Take care, everyone!
