Better than Nothing Blog

Hey Guys,

I know you don't want to hear it, but it's been cold. (Yes, for Florida. Yes, it's much colder where you are. Wah!) But still, cold for us. Temps in the 40s and 50s for a couple weeks. So we haven't been getting outside much (plus the whole pandemic thing).

Bottom line is, we have very few pictures to blog about.

But hey - I'll share what I have. They are not exciting, but what else do you guys have to do? :-)

Here, this is fun. I bought this little figurine for our bathroom. Pig on a potty!

You know you love it! I regret nothing!

Oh, I also told some of you about how I had some photos blown up and repainted/repurposed some frames I had. Here are those...(sorry for the glare, etc...you get the idea).

I also got a canvas Audubon print of a pelican that is now in our bedroom. I have named him Elvis.

In other news, Deuce has three dog beds but has decided he likes sleeping on our new bathmat.

I love this pic - I found Eva protecting Deuce one afternoon when he was sleeping. She's like - leave him alone!

So sweet!

I also recently bought a 7-in-1 toaster oven like device - it's a little like a spaceship. It warms, toasts, broils, convection broils, bakes, convection bakes and acts as an air fryer. So far, I really like it.

It lights up!

Here are some boneless, skinless chicken thighs with just a little spice on them. No oil. Look how brown and crispy they came out in the air fryer.

Our other VERY exciting new purchase was a kitchen faucet. Ours would never fully shut off without an enormous struggle, and Glenn got tired of hearing me curse at it, so he said I could buy a new one. We got caps to seal off the holes in the granite that had formerly held our soap dispenser, which we never used, and the sprayer. The new faucet has a sprayer built in, and is black, and I think looks very clean and elegant. Glenn installed the thing - which, as always, was more difficult than you might think. He is my hero. Also - it shuts off!

It's SO PRETTY!

Speaking of Glenn, he took this picture (below) and posted it on Facebook with the caption, "I have so many questions." One of which is - what exactly is for sale here?

And yes - the Bucs won the SuperBowl. Which was the most boring game ever. But, I'm happy for the people down here who have been rooting for them for 20+ years to no avail. Apparently, we're the new City of Champions since we won the Stanley Cup too. They are calling Tampa - Champa.

But, of course, a zillion idiots went out and partied in the streets last night and in the bars with no masks or anything, so probably we're gonna have another big COVID spike in about 2 weeks. Sigh.

Anyhow, Glenn also recently drove to Pass-a-Grill beach to keep the car alive, and took some nice beach pics.

These are Cormorants.

Yesterday, we decided to venture OUT OF THE HOUSE and went to the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo. The place is free and allows you to bring your dogs, so we took the pups along.

Deuce in the rearview mirror

I think it's funny how Deuce looks happy/excited in these pics and Eva looks sad/terrified.

Anyhow - it was sunny and warm when we left the house and when we got to the gardens, it was cool and overcast. Blah. And not too many flowers. But - it was a change of scenery.

These are pink poinsettias. Mine at home - unbelievably - are still alive and thriving since before Christmas.

So anyway, I guess that's about it. Not too exciting but better than nothing!

Love you!
