Too Many Pictures!!! (Part 1 - Largo Park and Folly Farms)

Hi Everyone and Happy Holidays!

Glenn and I just got back from a beautiful week on Anna Maria Island and we have a ton of pictures from the beach, several nature preserves, the Marie Selby Botanical Garden's "Lights in Bloom" holiday event, and a day trip to the Ringling Museum. Additionally, before we left on our trip, we went to Largo's Nature Preserve and Glenn had his holiday luminaria event and the bottom line is...we have too many pictures.

Like, this is going to be exhausing.

So, I'm probably going to break this up into several blogs and just do a little at a time. Please bear with me.

First, here are some random pics from Glenn, with a wide variety of wildlife.

Fly, be free!

Next, we'll move on to Largo's Nature Preserve. Somehow, back a few years ago when we were on a quest to visit every park in the area, we missed this one, and it was a beaut!

Amazing shot!

"Wanna buy a watch?"

This is a limpkin.

Ibis.

Moorhen.

This is Tinkerbell.

Softshelled turtle

And now, a three-part action series...bird vs. fish.

Gulp!

So, next, we went to a local park called Folly Farms for a holiday charity event one night, which was nice.

A couple nights later, Glenn held his "Neighbors Unite" luminaria event, which coincided with Safety Harbor's Light Up event for Folly Farms. Glenn set up the ACS arch and a zillion luminaria bags along the lighted pathway through the park.

For you, Tom!

Alright guys, that feels like enough right now. That gets us up to the night before we left on vacation.

Stay Tuned.

Love you! Later, gators!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving! I made a pumpkin pie last night and Glenn and I are enjoying a relatively quiet (if you can ignore the dogfighting) and lazy morning.

Speaking of which, I posted this pic last night on Facebook, which is not as alarming as it looks. 😄

Oh, and while we're on the topic of alarming things, here is a pic of me from the last holiday - Halloween, which not all of you may have seen.

I think there is something in my eye...

Glenn is once again traveling for work. He went to North Carolina a couple weeks ago for a gala and golf outing at an exclusive club called Pinehurst. Here are some pics from there.

Last week, he went to New Orleans for an oyster shucking event for young professionals. Some day, if you have about 5 hours to spare, you can ask him about his disastrous trip home.

Cafe Du Monde

The event was held at this huge open air warehouse down by the river.

This is pre-event, when they were setting up.

Glenn brought me gifts...💖

We also recently had Chad and Lisha over to visit. We always have a great time with them.

In other news, I just bought these new stools for our island. We had not ever previously used the island for seating and I am way too excited about it.

Here are some random pics from around the homestead.

This is not just an optical illusion. These orchid blooms are huge. Like the size of my hand.

Also, Eddie LOVES playing in our backyard. The other day he pulled about a 20-foot long palm branch from under some brush, and was running through the yard with it.

He's smiling!

Ok...well, you know I wouldn't JUST give you puppy pics. We have SUNRISE pics too! Pretty spectacular ones...

Man, we have a lot to be thankful for! Including all of you!

And finally this:  Every morning, Eddie begs to go out....not to pee but to just sit and look at the pool and contemplate life. Just takes a few minutes to say good morning to the world and be thankful.

Love you all. Happy Thanksgiving!
